The sad thing is while all the petty bickering is going on, people are still dying and going to hell without even knowing there is something far better – the alternative. People need to know Love personified. They need to see love expressed through us. As you said, it’s not about us. My pastor is fond of saying this very thing: It’s not about you. It’s not about me. It’s all about Him. We need to be kingdom people. Not church people. There will not be any Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics or Pentecostals or any other denomination in heaven. There will only be God’s children.
Whenever Israel messed up, God dealt with them in specific ways: He allowed their leaders to be humiliated. He allowed the nation to be attacked…you can probably fill in the rest. God dealt with other nations in the same way. Why do we think America is exempt? America was blessed as long as its people honored God. You don’t honor God, He doesn’t honor you. That’s the way it works.
