Former Royal Porter always played to win.

I don’t, actually. I got tired of editors changing my work too much. They’d go fix one error and inject three, and of course, it’s my name up top and not theirs, so I look like the bumbling idiot.

If I can find a local newspaper editor who takes the same approach as Jeremy Spencer–my editor at Computer Shopper UK–then I’ll think about it. Until then, being obscure and self-sufficient has its plusses.

This is a good piece.

Do you submit these for consideration to the local paper? I think you should…

Sincerely,

Bruce

The park where Darrell Porter died was a favorite fishing spot, and he always went in the late afternoon–feeding time–no matter how hot it was.

There are several good stories in the Kansas City Star:
Former Royal overcame addiction, touched hundreds of lives — Bob Dutton
Porter’s courage in facing his demons got fans’ respect — Jason Whitlock
Cardinals family mourns another death — Rick Hummell
