Commodore and IBM had a patent sharing agreement of some sort, yes. I’m not sure how much Amiga technology IBM used or vice-versa, but Arexx was based on an IBM mainframe scripting language and I think Amigas had it before OS/2 did.

My friend (which had BBS :)) run OS/2 and it was really something new and refreshing.

btw I remember that Commodore had some deal with IBM regarding OS/2 user interface. Commodore got Arexx scripting from IBM as part of deal IIRC.
