I finally started a few days ago... And I quickly found myself doing, of all things, correcting the entry for "Trinity is My Name" which stated that Henry Fonda was the actor...

Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer. Talk about a flashback!

For the record: The committee's correct name was the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA), not HUAC (for House Un-American Activities Committee) -- the latter being a very neat bit of propaganda, obviously intended to imply that the committee itself, rather than those it investigated, were engaging in "un-American" activities. (Maybe it was, but that's still no excuse for getting the label wrong.)

Whenever you see the acronym "HUAC" used in print, it could be sloppy journalism; but it's not, it's more like an article of (political) faith handed down as tradition.

One of the sources suggested the microfilm was probably only in the pumpkin for a matter of weeks, at the most. For the bulk of the 10 years, he’d stored the stuff at a relative’s house. He must have moved it once the heat was on.

Interesting. Sounds like Chambers did some evidence planting, yet the law was able to trace the typewriter. So, how does the microfilm survive in a hollowed out pumpkin for so long? My jack-o-lanterns are pretty much rotted by Thanksgiving. :-} Spy stuff is so interesting!

G. Gordon Liddy's most visible acting role was on Miami Vice. He did some late night shows during that time, that unfortunately were hosted by some forgetable hosts. But I do remember hearing about the DC prison and a couple of the places he was stationed.
