Could be anything from church history, some specific topic in Scripture, to our new building project.

Of course, this is a bit different from what you’re reporting on above. The bar in question isn’t typically someplace the avg person goes to get wasted, and the attendees are already people involved in church (tho’ friends are always welcome 🙂

These are very popular events, usually drawing a big crowd, and the level of conversation is quite stimulating and enjoyable. It’s one of several things our very active & successful young adult ministry does that contributes to this group being engaged and involved with parish life.

(Oh, BTW – another difference is that we’re Episcopalian. The Episcopal Church generally has never had a problem with responsible, social drinking as long as it’s not a detriment in the life of a specific individual. As Dave said above, the Bible warns against being a drunkard, not against drinking itself – i.e all things in moderation 🙂
