I read this through my own tears. We’re closing in on one of those days with our Leo, who has been here since 2009. Lost my father and our first dog, Daisy, the same year. Dad was easier. I couldn’t pick the phone up and call him any more, but every moment I was home, Daisy wasn’t. Enjoy the memories. She was home where she wanted to be right with her family until the very end. And she did it just like she did everything else in her life – her own way. What a wonderful dog.

Thank you for sharing her story with us. I love how she was such a special part of your life and I’m sure her great relationship with your sons has fostered a lifelong love of dogs in them. I’m sorry you have lost this special being from your home. I’ll be thinking of you through this immediate time of Goodbye and as the coming months and years bring her to mind in moments of loving reflection. Angel always seemed far younger than her age. I honestly can’t believe it has been sixteen years since you brought her home. My sympathies to you all.
