One interesting piece of trivia: When SoftKey merged with Spinnaker and WordStar International in 1994, WordStar was technically the surviving entity, although it took the SoftKey name and moved to Spinnaker’s offices in Boston. So the company acquired by Mattel could trace its roots back all the way to the 1970s, when MicroPro International–the original name for WordStar–formed.
