I HATE shopping. Let’s be honest…it’s not the spending, but the knowledge that there is a “better buy” out there somewhere (a bit like the “Truth” for all you X-Files fans). In fact, I’m sure that half the time the better buy is in the store that I’m in somewhere!!
I agree with Andy… it’s the total package, and that means the amount of time that I am required to go on this treasure hunt in the first place. Okay, so I usually end up missing out on the $50 that I could hav saved with half a day of running around, but how often do I spend big bucks anayway, and if that $50 buys me an extra half a day watching cluds with my 4 year old, or walking along the Ross River with my wife then I reckon I’m a winner.
I know that when my time comes to die I’d pay much more than that 50 to have one more afternoon with my family. To paraphrase a well known saying (at least in Australia)… no-one’s last words were ever “gee, if only I’d gone to one more shop before buying the sofa”.

I ended up with Maytag every time.

Sears: Electric dyer but “OH you want the cord with that?” No kidding, an ELECTRIC dryer WITHOUT the cord, that is extra. My response, BYE BYE.

Maytag dealer: Same price but, the cord is INCLUDED, pickup the old dryer AND one year parts and labor, then 5 years parts. My response SOLD!

Price is not everything. To me it is the total package. What does it include or exclude. Price, service, warranty and honest sales people are the total package.

IMHO.
