1. It took FOREVER to load the MLB channel (I’d guess a full minute) and each selection of the menu took a long time to load.

2. Then when loaded it would often freeze, have poor picture quality or crash after a few innings. With the restart that would take forever, I’d often lose half an inning getting back to where I was.

3. I was using a ROKU 2 XD unit (old) Model 3050x that played most other fare (Netflix) just fine, but NOT MLB channel.

4. I read that the ROKU 2 (NEW) Model 4210×2 NOT to be confused with the old ROKU 2 XD (WHY they used “ROKU 2” to notate two very different models, I do not know.

5. The new ROKU 2 Model 4210×2 has made ALL the difference. Everything loads SO much faster and thus far everything seems so much more stable Unlike the earlier ROKU model(s) the processor in this one seems to be able to handle the data speed with ease. I am a happy camper.

That may be, but I sometimes see it during the inning. Taking these steps reduces it, and if you’re lucky, can eliminate it.

I knew it wasn’t the speed of my broadband, and mlb games were fine on my desktop and iphone. So I checked that I had the most up to date Roku software (in Settings) – and I did. Then I unplugged for a minute. All the problems of buffering went away.
