Case’s brother was a successful investment banker who was a major backer of the original Control Video. Meanwhile, Steve was living somewhere in the Midwest doing market research for Pizza Hut. He went to Las Vegas to see Control Video’s presentation at CES, and that’s when his brother got him a marketing job with the company. Case was later promoted to head of marketing when Control Video’s new CEO basically fired everyone else in the department.
