I also remember seeing the Tandy 3000NL 286 at Radio Shack.

I even remember the Tandy 5000MC with microchannel at Radio Shack but of course priced way out of my family budget.

I still have it. Id wanted a computer for years and that Saturday she woke me up and said lets go look at computers. For some reason I picked Circuit City. Right as we walked in they had a big sale going on computers there at the front. I was looking at 386 ones at the time but saw this store demo model AST 486 there and it was only $850. Thats when she really surprised me and said “Lets get it!” She had secretly gotten a credit card just to buy me a computer. Bless her. Finding a better pc cheaper than thought cinched it. Grabbed a Packard Bell 14″ SVGA .28mm dot pitch monitor to go with it. The rest is PC gaming history. Im still just as big a hard core gamer today as I was in 94 at 25 years old. My sweet little darling wife passed away in 2019 and I miss her dearly each day. She got me started in this stuff and I thank her.
