Macintosh had Toolbox API with QuickDraw, Menu Manager… did Apple IIgs had same?
anyway, that was the future! – OS with API and 3rd party software relying on those APIs.
Steve Jobs took it to the next level with NEXT STEP (that eventually save Apple).
