A 4inkjets review: recommended

Last Updated on August 3, 2018 by Dave Farquhar

It’s not as easy as it could be to find a 4inkjets review, so I thought I’d write one myself. I’ve been buying from 4inkjets.com for more than a decade and I recommend them. Here’s why.

My 4injkets review

4inkjets review
4inkjets sells supplies for both laser printers and inkjets, including models discontinued long ago, such as this Samsung CLP-300.

Contrary to their name, 4inkjets does carry laser toner too, not just inkjet supplies. They carry supplies for almost any printer you’re likely to have, their prices are below retail, and they ship quickly. Plus, when I need to order, they almost always are running some kind of a special deal.

I’ve bought color and black and white toner from them, as well as drum units. I’ve bought their house-brand LD cartridges when they have a compatible one, and I’ve bought their remanufactured cartridges. All of them worked well.

Alternatives to 4inkjets

I’m always looking for ways to save a buck. So of course I’ve bought cartridges off Amazon and Ebay. I had less luck buying cartridges from random Amazon and Ebay sellers. About half the time, those cheaper cartridges are fine. The other half, they malfunctioned long before their time.

So with a 50% failure rate, I would need the cheap cartridges to sell for 50% the cost of a 4inkjets cartridge or less. Since they don’t, I buy from 4inkjets. Amazon and Ebay can be better and cheaper when you can get factory sealed, new cartridges. This does happen sometimes, say, when an office finds a stash of cartridges for a printer they got rid of. But frequently when I bought something advertised as new and factory sealed, it ended up being a poorly remanufactured cartridge.

With 4inkjets, I know what I’m getting, So I decided not to waste my time with anything else. And if 4inkjets is having a sale, their prices are hard to beat. Laser toner doesn’t expire, so don’t be shy about stocking up.

Factoring 4inkjets into future purchases

When I shop for a printer, I factor in 4inkjets’ supplies into my decision. I buy the printer with the lowest cost per page using 4inkjets’ supplies. One time when I was shopping for a printer, 4inkjets didn’t have a cartridge for it due to the printer’s use of DRM. So I bought someone else’s printer instead. I paid a little extra upfront, but over the long term, I saved money because of the cheaper consumables.

4inkjets review: In conclusion

You may have noticed I have nothing bad to say about them. 4inkjets has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years and I’ve never had a problem with any of their cartridges. I recommend them without reservation.

Dave, great service, arrived promptly. Cartridge for my ancient HPLJ 1100 looks great, much better that the cheap version I bought on eBay. Color cartridges for an old HP Photosmart took a couple rounds to work through, but in the end they came out perfect.

I want to add one more comment worth mentioning.

I have used an HP LaserJet 1100 for years. Once in a while they break down and I go buy another one at the RecyclePC store for $10.00. The cartridges last forever…

I’ve had trouble with paper feeding on a few of them and gone and replaced the little rubber roller thing with a kit you can buy online. Sometimes it helps, but by and large it doesn’t.

Well, with the new cartridge I bought from http://www.4inkjets.com I haven’t had a single jam yet, so I suspect part of the problem is the cartridge itself.

I tell ya, the ink is dark as Hades; far better than the original HP but “out-of-date” one I once got from eBay.
